As many of you know, my friend Sarah is General Manager of a local charity called Age Concern Southend, in Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, and I am an event volunteer.

Age Concern is a local, independent charity founded in 1974, dedicated to supporting people over 50 in Southend on Sea and surrounding areas. The charity's mission is to help older adults to live healthier, happier and more independent lives while fostering a strong, vibrant community where they can truly thrive.

The charity runs out of The Haven Community Hub in Hamlet Court where they provide befriending, information , advice and a Dementia Day Centre.

Following a successful fundraising campaign , the charity has now secured sufficient funding to enable it to buy the freehold of the Havens building. The next part of the dream is to raise funds to carry out essential building alterations to the middle floor, which will mean they can offer their services to more people.

I am organising a Hollywood glitz and glam night at the Westcliff Hotel on Saturday 6th September.

There will be a dj and raffle. Bar food and drinks will be available to purchase on the night.

Tickets can be purchased for £15 each and each ticket will be entered in to a prize draw. Please purchase your tickets via donation through this Just Giving page stating your names, (and if you can contact me to advise). Gift aid can also be applied if applicable.
