Story
A personal post 💛
On June 14th, Clare and I will be climbing five of Edinburgh’s hills—Arthur’s Seat, Calton Hill, Corstorphine Hill, Blackford Hill and Craiglockhart Hill—in one day to raise money for a charity that means the world to our families.
My amazing daughter, Nevarah, is 4½ and has complex autism. She is a smart little girl who struggles to communicate through spoken language. We are very lucky to be supported by a local charity, the Tailor Ed Foundation, but Nevarah is just one of many autistic children who they support every day across Edinburgh.
Clare Alexander will be taking on the challenge with me. Her wee boy Liam also has autism and Tailor Ed support him as well.
The Tailor-Ed team come into homes and nurseries to help with the biggest day-to-day challenges—building communication, independence and essential life skills. Their workers are extraordinary people who not only understand autism, but truly believe in the potential of every child with the right support.
This service is completely free and they have no continual source of funding.
We are fundraising so they can keep supporting children like Nevarah and Liam—and so many others.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean so much 💛
