Story
This year I'm going to be running the Great North Run half marathon for the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in memory of Ben's mum Elfie.
Last year we sadly lost Elfie after a long battle with cancer. Her final days were spent at Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. A place that provided such care and support to not only Elfie but to the rest of the family too. Providing a calm peaceful place for us all in those final days. An incredible team who offered such compassion and dignity.
Manorlands really does think of everything right down to tea, biscuits and snacks in the family room and fully stocked bird feeders and tables which provide peace, tranquility and a welcome distraction when the birds come to visit outside the windows but all of this is only possible thanks to generous donations.
I want to raise money so that other families can continue to receive the same support, kindness and dignity that we received.
Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with Sue Ryder's support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. They are there when it matters.
