Story
On the 1st December 2022, Elliott Peto, a brave boy of just 5 years old, passed away from a type of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma.
On Saturday May 20th 2023, at 7:30am, his father, Chris Peto and uncle, Gareth Elwick, will cycle 80 miles from The Green, Chapel St Leonards, around the Wash, to Old Hunstanton beach dressed as Spiderman, with the intention of raising funds for better treatments and a cure for this disease.
Both Chris and Gareth, are former pupils of Boston Grammar School, and have chosen the locations of the start and finish of the cycle, because of the happy seaside times Elliott had at both. Elliott was also a huge fan of Spiderman, and always wanted to help other people, just like his favourite superhero.
Elliott was just starting to learn to ride his bike when he was diagnosed in October 2021, and unfortunately was not able to fulfil this goal. So it seems a fitting tribute to do the ride in his honour. The quest to raise funds and increase awareness of this disease, in Elliott's memory is represented by Elliott's Arc, a part of the Alice's Arc charity that has a specific focus on research into better treatments and cure for Rhabdomyosarcoma.
