I'm running my first Ever Half Marathon, raising funds for Milo's Mission, a Special Named Fund at CCLG: The Children & Young People’s Cancer Association. A charity chosen by Milo's Family. Milo's mission is a fund set up by the charity, meaning they can choose specifically how donations are spend towards research.

Given a trainer once said to me i'd never run more than 10k because of the way I run, this will be a real challenge!

Milo tragically passed away on 26th November 2024 from Wilms Tumour, a type of Kidney cancer. He was only 2.5 years old.

I have seen first hand how this devasting loss has affected Milo's Aunty Jo and his cousin Aleyna. This is a loss no family should ever have to endure, and I would love to do what I can to raise money to support this charity.

In his families' words:

"Milo was a force of nature, absolutely bursting with life, joy, love and laughter. His favourite things were his Mummy and Daddy, dinosaurs, swings, aeroplanes, helicopters, trains, berries and chocolate."

I will be running to raise money for Children's Cancer and Leukemia group who fund vital research into childhood cancers to cure as many children as possible with kinder treatments so there are less short and long-term side effects.

Even though Cancer is the biggest killer in children aged one to 14 in the UK and rates are growing, funding into childhood cancer is tiny compared to adult cancer (only 2%).

Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group is a leading children's cancer charity and the UK and Ireland's professional association for those involved in the treatment and care of children with cancer.
