On 28th April 2022, we welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Jasmine Poppy. Born prematurely at 32 weeks, Jasmine was diagnosed with a hernia but showed incredible strength from the very beginning. She sailed through birth and waited patiently to grow stronger before undergoing surgery at 37 weeks.

During her time in neonatal care, Jasmine sadly contracted sepsis. Despite her brave fight against this devastating illness, our precious girl passed away on 17th July 2022.

We were blessed with three unforgettable months with Jasmine—months filled with love, hope, and admiration for her resilience. She was our world, and the pain of losing her is indescribable. We are forever heartbroken, but endlessly proud of our little fighter.

In Jasmine’s memory, we are raising funds for Abigail’s Footsteps, a charity that provides vital support to bereaved parents and works to improve the way hospitals care for families experiencing loss. Tragically, stillbirths and neonatal deaths occur daily, yet many hospitals lack the facilities and bereavement training needed to support grieving parents with compassion and dignity.

One of Abigail’s Footsteps’ most impactful contributions is the creation and funding of the Abi Cooling Cot. Since losing Jasmine, we have raised funds and are deeply grateful to have had one of these cots made in her memory. It means so much to us to know that other families will be able to spend precious time with their baby before saying goodbye.

We are committed to continuing our fundraising efforts to support Abigail’s Footsteps, to honour Jasmine’s legacy and the journey we’ve been through as a family.
