Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am taking on the Great North Run 2025 with my husband, Jak.

My husband & I met at the great north run in 2009 when I was just 17 - we always had it on our bucket list to run it together, it’s took us 15 years to sign up?! 😂

We are absolutely NOT runners - in fact I always tell my students at school if they ever saw me running, to call the police as I was clearly getting chased by someone!

So why now?!

In 2008, my mother in law Alyson bravely battled breast cancer and WON, with the all clear in 2009! However, in 2023, her breast cancer returned in other parts of her body. This is a cancer Alyson bravely fights everyday, with no active cure available. She is one of the strongest women I know, never complaining and always pushing forward for herself and her family!

Breast Cancer Now is the UK's largest charity devoted specifically to breast cancer. It funds world class research and delivers campaigns and services, so people affected by breast cancer can have the best care and all the support they need. With the money that cancer research provides, the experts managed to create a type of chemotherapy treatment, that is allowing Alyson to live her life amazingly every day!

Without this charity, it would be a very different story for Alyson and thousands of others affected by breast cancer.
