Over a casual staff room lunch break in the middle of the school day, two teachers found themselves chatting about ways they could make a difference for a good cause. Between sips of coffee our conversation quickly turned into fitness challenges and our shared enjoyment for the gym. One fleeting comment about taking part in a crazy fitness event to raise money for charity and before you know it we were convincing one another to sign up to HYROX. A huge buzz of excitement and about 10 laptops on the go in the ticket queue, we got ourselves a place for the Women's Double event on June 1st in the iconic Principality Stadium. With a shared sense of adventure and pushing limits, we both agreed that this challenge would be the perfect way to push ourselves while supporting a cause we care about. We had to agree on this at this point... there was no turning back once we got through that mental ticket queue! 🙈

What is Hyrox? Beth yw Hyrox?

Hyrox is an intense fitness competition combining running and functional workout out stations. This involves 8x 1km runs between stations which include: 1km ski erg, 1km rower, continuous burpee broad jumps, sled pull, sled push, farmer carries, sandbag lunges and weighted wall balls. Every competitor is tracked via an electronic chip for accuracy for their time for each station and each run until completion of the whole course.
