Story
In November 2024, we suddenly and tragically lost my amazing mother-in-law Joy to a heart attack. My beautiful boy Stanley and amazing mam have also both been affected by heart problems - Stan was born with a large hole in his heart requiring open heart surgery at 6 months old and mam suffered a heart attack requiring stents.
Because of this, I now have three very special reasons to challenge myself in 2025. I will be taking part in the following challenges:
London Marathon - Sunday 27th April
Great Manchester Run half marathon - Sunday 18th May
Lakeland Trails 55km Ultra marathon - Saturday 12th July
Great North Run half marathon - Sunday 7th September
I have never ran an ultra marathon before and as someone who is not a natural runner it is going to be the ultimate challenge for me! Knowing that I am running for such a wonderful charity and for three very special people will make all the pain and hard work worthwhile.
I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.
Thank you so much for your support xx
