Story
On 22nd March, the AIM Rope Access team will be taking on a challenge that’s a little different from our usual day job as we’re abseiling off the iconic Falkirk Wheel to raise money for Ocean Youth Trust Scotland (OYT Scotland).
We’re proud to support this incredible charity, which transforms the lives of young people aged 12–25 through life‑changing sailing voyages. OYT Scotland believes every young person deserves the chance to realise their potential, build confidence and develop the skills they need for a positive future.
Their voyages on Alba Venturer and Alba Explorer run from April to November and offer intensive youth work at sea. These experiences help young people grow in resilience, teamwork, communication and self-belief. Around 70% of the 700+ young people they support each year come from disadvantaged backgrounds — including those in care, young carers, and those living in areas of deprivation or remote communities. For many, these voyages are truly life‑changing.
This year, all funds raised will go towards the Knot Just A Fundraiser campaign, helping OYT Scotland replace essential equipment, secure the future of their vessels, and continue supporting young people for years to come.
We’d love your support whether you donate, share our page, or cheer us on as we go over the edge. Every contribution helps give a young person an opportunity they might not otherwise have.
Thank you for supporting us and supporting OYT Scotland.
Let’s make a real difference together!
