Story
Welcome to my VHI Women's Mini Marathon 2023 challenge page. I am taking part in this challenge with a small group of like minded women to support the little patients and the staff in Children's Health Ireland hospitals and urgent care centres.
Our son Flynn has been a patient of Crumlin Children’s Hospital since he was two weeks old and he’s now ten! Every year we visit the hospital several times- consultant, physio, X-ray, orthotics appointments etc. Over the past year and a half in particular have spent much time in limb reconstruction where the specialist nurses and physicians with their advice, skills and perseverance are like family! So far, Flynn has had 6 significant operations on his leg and has spent several weeks as an in patient in Crumlin. The support and care he receives from our team is invaluable and we are always so grateful for their diligence and care.
All parents want to know that their children can receive the best care if/when they enter the hospital system. We hope our funding can truly help towards this.
Each and every day across CHI hospitals and urgent care centres in Connolly, Crumlin, Tallaght and Temple Street, sick children and their worried parents are coming through the doors in need of world-class paediatric care and treatment. Join me in supporting this essential, urgent and life-saving work and make a real and lasting difference in the lives of sick children.
Please donate what you can to help give every sick child every chance, to create a child-centred, home-from-home environment for patients in hospital and to ensure that children continue to have access to the very best facilities, services and equipment when they need it most. This is the power of your support.
