Story

Members of the Stockton office have chosen to walk the Guisborough Three Peaks, the route is approximately 10 mile and covers Roseberry Topping, Captain Cooks Monument, Little Roseberry and Highcliff Nab. The team are looking to raise funds for Target Ovarian Cancer Charity as a member of the team sadly lost her mum earlier this year to Ovarian Cancer:

Target Ovarian Cancer are the only ovarian cancer charity working across all four nations of the UK. They not only work with people affected by ovarian cancer but also health professionals, to help them diagnose faster, as they know early diagnosis can save lives!

They provide support to people facing ovarian cancer across the UK by giving trusted information, answering questions, supporting families, and connecting people with shared experiences to create a powerful and supportive community. They also invest in research to find new, better, and more targeted treatments, which means everyone can live with hope for their future.

Lydia's Story:

"On the 29th January 2023 we were given the heart breaking news that my lovely mum had advanced stage 3 Ovarian Cancer. She was a super fit, healthy 67-year-old with no symptoms. The disease very quickly took a hold of her and within a couple of weeks she was admitted to hospital – for three months we witnessed how horrendous this disease can be and on the 29th of April 2023 my mum was taken far too soon from us all."

Often ovarian cancer symptoms are mistaken for other ailments and causes, as they can be subtle and experienced by women who do not have ovarian cancer. Most patients are only identified in the advanced stages of the disease when it becomes more difficult to treat. Raising awareness of ovarian cancer and its symptoms with women – and clinicians – is essential if we are to reduce delays in diagnosis. It is especially important as there is no routine, simple screening test to detect ovarian cancer.

Please help us raise money for this invaluable charity by sponsoring our walk.
