In honour of my grandad who passed away on the 1st of October 2024 from Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), I will be taking part in the Robin Hood half marathon on the 27th of September as well as raising money for Nottingham’s largest food bank, Himmah. I volunteer every Saturday at the Muslim Hands Open Kitchen and after visiting Himmah myself, I saw behind the scenes of the fantastic work they do. I have been running since 2023 and have finally taken the courage to sign myself up for a half marathon. My grandad was a regular marathon runner and I hope to make him proud.
