Story

Every day through my work as the Operations Director of Willow Path, I have the privilege of supporting children who have faced adversity, trauma and challenges that many could never imagine. Despite the difficulties they’ve experienced, one thing we always hold onto is hope... hope for their future, hope for opportunities, and hope that with the right care, guidance and support, they can go on to achieve amazing things.

Working with vulnerable children has taught me the importance of creating positive experiences, building confidence and helping young people believe in themselves again. It’s why supporting When You Wish Upon A Star feels so close to my heart.

The children and families supported by this incredible charity face a very different reality. Many of these brave children are living with life-threatening illnesses, where everyday life becomes filled with hospital visits, treatment plans and uncertainty. Whilst the children I work with at Willow Path still have time to shape their futures, many Wish children are simply focused on making the most of the present moment.

Family time that many of us take for granted is often replaced with hospital appointments, invasive treatments and emotional challenges. Playgrounds become hospital wards, and time spent with friends is interrupted by medical care. During these incredibly difficult times, When You Wish Upon A Star provides something truly priceless moments of joy, escape and togetherness.

Whether it’s becoming a fairy princess for the day, meeting a sporting hero, experiencing something magical as a family, or simply receiving a laptop to stay connected whilst in hospital, every Wish creates memories that families can hold onto forever.

A Wish cannot cure illness, but it can reignite the magic of childhood. It can bring laughter into dark moments, create smiles during uncertainty, and allow families to simply be together and make precious memories.

I’m fundraising to help make more of these magical moments possible for children and families who need them most. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will help bring joy, hope and unforgettable memories to brave children facing unimaginable challenges.
