Story
We did it!
On the 21st-22nd May, the AJC team pulled the HealthBus non-stop for 24 hours!
No breaks. No stopping the bus. Just a continuous relay of our team pulling the HealthBus around the 5km loop at Tarrant Rushton Airfield. We pulled through the day, through the night and was very lucky with the weather.
Not only did we keep pulling the HealthBus continuously for 24 hours, but we also completed just over 120KM!!!!!
We battled exhaustion, blisters, muscle fatigue and the searing sun, the team dragged the bus over the finish line in a remarkable test of endurance and teamwork.
By the end of the challenge, as a team we had completed 24 laps, covering more than 120 kilometres / 75.1miles. Relay teams worked throughout the night to ensure the bus never stopped moving, with the official world record attempt overseen by Blandford Rotary Club.
The fundraising effort was all in aid to raise awareness and support of HealthBus, which provides essential healthcare and medical services for people experiencing homelessness across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. The specially converted ambulance has all the facilities of a medical practitioner’s office, providing a safe and non-judgmental GP-led service.
We’re aiming to raise £10,000 for the charity, and would like to thank you for taking the time to read our story and any support you can offer is greatly appreciated by everyone at AJC and at The HealthBus Trust.
Thank you!
