After completing my 10k every day challenge throughout December raising money for Only a pavement away, I’m continuing my fundraising efforts to tackle homelessness by running the 2024 Great north run in aid of Shelter.

The UK housing emergency has pushed more families into poverty and homelessness. Families are struggling to cope with eye-watering rent rises, poorly regulated rented accommodation and inadequate housing benefit. The lack of affordable social homes makes it difficult to find a way out. A staggering 145,800 children are currently homeless or in temporary accommodation.

This will be my fourth run at the GNR route and I’m hoping to get a course PB of sub 1:40 all being well.
