There are 4 million children living in poverty in the UK today. That number is increasing, not decreasing, over time.

My church, Redcar Baptist Church, works with young people living in poverty in Redcar through the Blank Canvas charity, so it's something we see at first hand.

Along with Child Poverty Action Group we'd like to raise awareness around the UK of the plight of so many young people who need our help.

By walking 2000 miles or 4 million steps I hope to represent the plight of every single child in poverty who needs support, in order to give them hope and a sense of purpose.
