Story
Hi all.
Skoda has long been known for doing some amazing things!
From consistent rally successes, the worlds fastest Octavia & a BEV drifting record, colleagues in Skoda Sales ops are about to top all these & set off on the latest mad cap adventure.
Now most of you will have heard of the North Coast 500 & possibly thought of planning a road trip to take in all that stunning coastal scenery, the whisky distilleries, castles, quaint villages as well as the picturesque highland views.
These trips tend to be planned over about 8 days, so in typical sales ops style the plan is to complete the whole 500 miles in under 40 hours with one man riding solo on his bicycle! So, no sightseeing for us boys.
Obviously, our Lycra clad hero is non other than Alan Chapman, the sandal wearing Lycra wearing cycling warrior famed for his cycling “Everesting” adventures (google it) on the horseshoe pass & his habit of having the odd high-speed crash here & there.
To ensure success & avoid any mishaps Alan will be supported on his gruelling adventure by Heath Munro & James Hunt, safe in a nice warm Kodiaq, providing safety, nourishment verbal abuse (encouragement) & protection, while Alan pushes those pedals for 500 miles.
The idea behind this is to raise lots of money for all the Brands favourite charities & take a moment to remember all those colleagues no longer with us, our friends & families, celebrate life, Alans hair loss & his 25 years dedication to the group & Brand.
Also, a big shout & thank you to our management team who have agreed to let us do this & colleagues who will be covering for us whilst this auspicious event takes place over the 15/16/17 July. Starting from Inverness in the early hours of 16th ... finishing (hopefully) around 7pm on the 17th.
The route is actually 516 miles long, should start & finish at Inverness Castle, instead we will begin & end this intrepid journey from Hawco Inverness our local Retailer.
