Alan runs 65 miles at 65 for Cancer Research UK

Running 65 miles for 65 years: 6 -- 10 July 2025
I turn 65 at the end of July and, to mark the milestone, I will match the years with miles and run 65 miles in a week leading up to my birthday.
Cancer has affected most of us - for me, several members of my family, work colleagues and dear friends over recent years. I have chosen to run in aid of Cancer Research UK, the world's leading independent cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, influence and information*.
I will run the Taff Trail in South Wales, a marked 55 mile route that runs from Brecon (Aberhonddu) over the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) then down the Taff Valley from Merthyr Tydfil to Cardiff (Caerdydd). To make up the other ten miles I’ll also do a loop of the Cardiff Bay Trail, and then a short run between Aberaeron and Llanerchaeron when I get home.
Your contribution, however small, will make an impact. Every little bit helps, thank you for your support.
