Story
In July 2023, my wife Angelica was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Between August 2023 and the end of November 2023 she went through a tough regime of chemotherapy treatment, at the Royal Marsden unit within Kingston Hospital. In early February 2024, she then had surgery at the Royal Marsden in Chelsea. Angelica will start three weeks of radiotherapy in April 2024. Overall, it has been a fairly horrendous experience to go through, but the good news is that she has responded well to treatment, and she is a positive and strong character who has taken it all in her stride.
The care and treatment that Angelica has received from the whole team of medical experts and staff at Kingston, Sutton, and Chelsea has been excellent. Angelica has been pleased with the team's dedication, expertise, and empathy shown towards her. The compassionate and amazing care that she has received has made the journey of fighting cancer as smooth as possible.
Angelica has been through it, but I thought that I should do something to give something back to those who have helped her, and to help any others who may go through a similar experience. So I am doing the 100-mile Ride London-Essex bike challenge on Sunday 26 May 2024 as an expression of thanks to everyone who has helped Angelica.
