Alan and Robert Gimes fundraiser for PROSTATE CANCER UK

Whitehaven to Tynemouth cycle ride · 15 September 2023
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men.
More than 52,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year on average – that's 143 men every day.
Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 12,000 men every year.
1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
Around 475,000 men are living with and after prostate cancer.
Many amongst us will have personal experience of this cancer or know someone that has.
Scientific and medical research will provide the path to combating this cancer and its effects on patients and their families.
For these reasons Alan Gimes and his son Robert are doing a 3 day cycle ride from Whitehead in Cumbria, on the west coast of England across the Pennines to Tynemouth in the County of Tyne and Weir on the east coast.
