Alan's Channel Swim

Swimming the English Channel
Hopefully at some point in July this year, I am going to be attempting to swim from England to France in only my swimming costume, googles and hat. This is likely to be a mammoth task taking upwards of 10 hours of continuous swimming!!! and one which I have been training for the last couple of months.
I will not only have to swim over 21 miles, but deal with the cold water, dreaded Jellyfish in the middle and dodge ships in the busiest shipping lane in the World (and unfortunately the ferry isn't option!!!!).
Given the challenges of the swim, I thought it would be a really good idea to raise some well needed funds for the RNLI who look after a lot of the water around and inside the UK, especially given too many people are still drowning and more people are holidaying are UK beaches. As a charity, the RNLI depends on donations likes these so it can go on saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe.
RNLI lifesavers are our lifeline. They’re the lifeboat crews who provide 24-hour search and rescue right around the UK and Ireland. The lifeguards keeping watch on 240 of the busiest beaches in the UK and Channel Islands. And the RNLI safety teams and educators working tirelessly to stop people getting into trouble in the first place.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated and would be a huge boost mentally for myself whilst swimming the Channel.
