I'm an amateur stand up comedian, who started doing comedy gigs 10 months ago at the grand old age of 64. On March 28th, i was sitting in the audience, having just come off stage, happy and laughing with the audience and my fellow comedians when I had a Cardiac Arrest .I was dead for 21 minutes. I was saved with CPR from audience members Karen Pritchard and Paul Baker. After this traumatic time i was rushed to Basildon Cardio Thoracic Centre where after 3 days in an induced coma , I was kept in Hospital for almost a month and had a Defibrillator fitted, so hopefully this wont happen again.

I am having the gig to honour the two hero's, whose skills saved my life and to raise money for Sudden Cardiac Arrest UK, a small charity which really needs more funds. The gig is at the venue where it happened, The Wickford Railway Club, SS12 0AD.

In the UK only 8% of Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrests survive....again, just 8%!!! How lucky was I .

The Charity raises awareness of what a Sudden Cardiac Arrest is, how to recognise it, and helps those that survive and their families to get through the trauma. It is a very traumatic thing to witness, and I hope a lot of the people who were there come back to this gig to help them heal. I am also aware of the great work the Charity does to support the family of CA survivors, which is much needed.

Most people think a Cardiac Arrest is the same as a Heart Attack, They are NOT. I had no warning signs, or pain - one moment I was alive the next I was clinically dead.

I'm hoping to raise money on the night, and hope as many of you as possible will come and support it. Apart from the excellent comedy, there will be a buffet and a raffle. I realise some of you won't be able to come so I've created this Just Giving page for Donations.
