Supporting Marsden Silver Prize Band
South Yorkshire Police Band Bass Player, Alan Rowe is taking on an incredible challenge to support fellow musicians in need.
Alan will be walking the 39 miles from Rotherham to Wetherby Bandstand arriving on Sunday 24th May in time for the start of the South Yorkshire Police Band’s concert at the bandstand.
The walk is raising vital funds for Marsden Silver Prize Band, who have recently been affected by a devastating flood. The flooding caused significant damage to their rehearsal venue, music library and musical instruments - putting a huge strain on a band that is at the heart of their local community.
The South Yorkshire Police Band are determined to stand alongside the Marsden Silver Prize Band during this difficult time . Your donation will help them to repair, recover and rebuild, ensuring they can continue making music and supporting their local community for years to come.
This challenge reflects the strong sense of solidarity within the Brass Band and wider musical community and the shared commitment to preserving these traditions, even in the face of unexpected challenges.
Every donation big or small, really does make a difference.
Thank you so much for your generosity and support.
