Alan spent ten years in Africa. He arrived in Zimbabwe as a young graduate straight out of uni and immediately fell in love with this magical continent. He then worked in Kenya, before moving to Uganda in 1994.

Uganda always held a special place in his heart and in mine too. Indeed, this is where we started living together, this is where he proposed to me, this is where we welcomed our first born, this is where he supported me when I heard of my mum’s passing. So many emotions in such a beautiful place. So many kind and welcoming people. You may leave Uganda, but Uganda never leaves you.

So if you wish to, please donate to this wonderful charity: the Uganda Conservation Foundation doesn’t just support wildlife conservation but also works closely with local communities to promote wildlife-compatible livelihoods. This Foundation was set up by Michael Keigwin, who Alan knew.

Alan a passé dix ans en Afrique. Il est arrivé au Zimbabwe alors qu'il était un jeune diplômé tout droit sorti de l'université et est immédiatement tombé amoureux de ce continent magique. Il a ensuite travaillé au Kenya, avant de s'installer en Ouganda en 1994.

L’Ouganda a toujours occupé une place particulière dans son cœur et dans le mien aussi. En effet, c’est là que nous avons commencé à vivre ensemble, c’est là qu’il m’a demandée en mariage, c’est là que nous avons accueilli notre premier-né, c’est là qu’il m’a soutenu lorsque j’ai appris le décès de ma mère. Que d'émotions dans un si beau pays. Tant de gens gentils et accueillants. Vous pouvez quitter l’Ouganda, mais l’Ouganda ne vous quitte jamais vraiment.

Alors si vous le souhaitez, faites un don à cette merveilleuse organisation caritative : la "Uganda Conservation Foundation" ne soutient pas seulement la protection de la nature, mais travaille également en étroite collaboration avec les communautés locales pour promouvoir des moyens de subsistance compatibles avec la nature. Cette Fondation a été créée par Michael Keigwin, qu'Alan connaissait.
