Story
I'm running the Dublin Marathon for Dementia UK. This is an important cause for myself and my family because two of my aunties are living with dementia, so I’ve seen first-hand the impact that this condition can have, not only on the person living with it but on their entire family.
Dementia can be incredibly difficult and heartbreaking, as it can slowly change someone’s memories, personality and independence, while also placing a huge emotional strain on the people who love and care for them. Watching people you love face those changes is something that is very difficult to put into words.
I’m running to help raise awareness and vital funds for Dementia UK, supporting the work they do to provide specialist advice, guidance and support to families affected by dementia. I hope that by taking on this challenge, I can do something positive for my aunties and for the many other families going through a similar experience.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will mean so much to me and will help Dementia UK continue to support people living with dementia and the families around them.
Thank you so much for supporting me and helping me raise money for a cause that means a huge amount to me. ❤️
