South Central Ambulance Charity train and fund Community First Responders, to respond to 999 emergencies in their local area. CFR’s are often the first to arrive at the scene of an emergency because they are local. Although they are fully integrated into the NHS Frontline Emergency Response, the charity does not receive direct NHS funding. The charity is funded by donations which are used to fund the training and equipment given to all CFR’s.
