Story

In 2023, Alasdair is attempting to climb 50 Munros to raise money for the National Deaf Children’s Society. This will be an extremely difficult challenge and is more than double the number of Munros he has done in a year before. During the summer nearly all our weekends are blocked out for walking and we have the famously reliable Scottish weather to contend with as well. Alasdair completed his first Munro when he was only 5 and has completed a total of 50 over the past 5 years. This challenge will hopefully see him get to the top of his 100th Munro before his 11th birthday at the end of September.

As a family with a child with hearing loss, the National Deaf Children's Society is a cause very close to our hearts. We have attended several of their events over the years and we have first hand experience of the amazing job they do supporting deaf children and their families. Alasdair has always been incredibly supportive towards his sister Heather, and he is very excited to be taking on this challenge for such a great cause.
