Story
Many of you know me as a passionate Albion fan and an avid cyclist, so this challenge feels like a perfect match for me. On 1st March this year, I underwent foot surgery that sidelined me from cycling for eight weeks. Since then, I've been working hard to regain my fitness and channel that energy into raising funds for an incredible cause.
I am proud to be supporting the Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation, the official charity of Brighton & Hove Albion FC. This foundation harnesses the power of football to inspire and engage people across Sussex, helping them get active, learn new skills, and improve their wellbeing. Their mission is clear: everyone, regardless of background or ability, deserves to experience the transformative impact football can have on their lives.
Having spent much of my life involved in youth work, I’ve witnessed first hand the challenges faced by many in Brighton and Hove and surrounding areas. The Foundation doesn’t just promote a football club, they make a tangible difference in real people’s lives every day. Your support helps unlock opportunities and create lasting benefits for those who need it most.
Although I lived in Sussex for many years, I’ve never cycled from London to Brighton before so this will be a first! I’m so excited to take on this ride on Sunday 13 September 2026 alongside fellow supporters and the Albion legend Guy Butters. It’s an honour to ride on behalf of such a meaningful cause.
Please join me in supporting the amazing work of the Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation by donating towards my fundraising target. Every contribution helps empower individuals through sport and community programs that change lives for the better.
Thank you so much for your generosity and encouragement as we pedal together and see positive change. Alastair (Dr Jones - Sometimes known as Indiana)
