Story
I will be running the London Marathon for Rays of Sunshine. Rays of Sunshine are an incredible charity who create amazing experiences for children living with serious illnesses, giving them the opportunity to smile so much more, have new experiences and meet so many other children to share their own incredible stories with each other.
I am running for Rays of Sunshine because they have helped me so much over the years. When I was 7 I was diagnosed with cancer, something which affected me, and in particular my family, immensely. Rays of Sunshine however, provided our family with an amazing trip to London! We stayed in an amazing hotel, saw a show in the West End, and had a ride on the London Eye!
Till this day Rays of Sunshine have continued to support me, up until I was 18, I was a member of the Sunshine Choir, an amazing group designed to create opportunities for children to sing and enjoy music! As part of the choir we released a single "Rainbow" which we were able to actually record and post to the public!
Now as an adult, I am part of the Bright Board, a group of young people who are able to help out with parts of Rays of Sunshine, and learn valuable lessons in doing so both from the amazing staff at Rays of Sunshine and professionals in all sorts of industry. Now as a member, I continue to help out with the Sunshine Choir, and also volunteered at the end of the marathon in 2026. Something which inspired me personally to take on this challenge as well!
The money raised will help brighten the lives of children who are living with serious or life-limiting illnesses, between the ages of 3-18, across the United Kingdom by granting their wish and supporting them in hospitals and hospices.
Thank you for your support!
