Canoeing over the highest aqueduct in the world and white water rafting · 26 April 2025

We want to continue Elsie's 'Story'; her positivity, love for others and energy of life... We will be funding activities, essential resources and special experiences that bring happiness and hope. Every grant we give, every smile we create and every life we touch is a reflection of Elsie's legacy.

Story

Alcedo Care is proud to announce that this year's Alcedo fundraising event will take place on Saturday 26th April at White Water Active in Llangollen, in aid of Elsie’s Story.

We join the nation in sharing our sadness over the tragic events of July 29th 2024 in Southport. Elsie Dot Stancombe’s family have launched a charity in her memory, Elsie’s Story which we are supporting with our fundraising this year.

Up to 60 brave colleagues from across the business, as far north as Carlisle and as far south as Crewe will take on 2 challenges including open-water canoeing across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, the tallest aqueduct in the world! Challenge two will be white water rafting down the river Dee in teams of 6 aboard an inflatable raft.

We would very much like to support this local charity, in light of the recent events to allow this new charity to really flourish, in memory of a special little girl.

We would really appreciate any donation however big or small to allow us to reach our fundraising goal.

You are all very welcome to come along, watch and support us on the day too!

Thank you for your donation in advance.
