Alderford Lake fundraiser for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity

Georgia Worsnop is raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity

24 hour paddle

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

24-Hour Paddle for Birmingham Children’s Hospital

The Alderford activity team, along with Zara – are taking on a 24-hour paddle marathon to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

This cause means the world to us. Zara, one of our lifeguards, has been cared for by the hospital since birth after being diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a complex heart condition. Over her 17 years, she has had four open-heart surgeries, supported by the hospital’s incredible cardiac team and her consultant, Dr. Chickermane.

Soon, Zara will turn 18 and move to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment and surgery. Before that next step, we’re coming together to say a huge thank you to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for everything they have done for her.

For 24 hours straight, Zara and over 20 of our team will be paddling – day and night – to raise vital funds so the hospital can continue helping children like Zara.

Every donation makes a difference. Thank you for cheering us on and helping us give back to this amazing place!
