I'm raising money for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, the leading nonprofit driving research toward cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

I met a friend when I first moved to San Francisco. A true badass. A modern day adventurer, explorer and Kerouac of the skies. It was only months later that I found out she was living with Crohn's disease, and got a sense of how this chronic illness derails life, especially in your youth and prime. Most, if not all people, have no idea the toll this can take on someone. I certainly didn't.

No matter what, she's always smiling, active and squeezing the juice out of life. Respect. Keep shining Tithi.

Since 1967, the Foundation has invested over $500 million in research and has played a role in every major IBD breakthrough — from new therapies to precision medicine that tailors treatment to each patient. Right now it's funding more than 230 active research projects worldwide, while also providing education, support programs, and advocacy for the millions of children and adults living with these diseases. Every dollar helps accelerate the science that's bringing us closer to a future free from Crohn's and colitis.

I'm raising money and running in the Big Sur Trail Marathon to support Crohn's reasarch this year.

The Big Sur Trail Marathon is a hilly course: a steep climb from 200 ft to over 1,000 ft in the first few miles, a brief descent, then a relentless ascent to the 1,200 ft turnaround peak. Marathoners run that out-and-back twice for roughly 4,000+ ft of total climbing
