Right now, more than one in six children on the planet live are living in a conflict zone. That is more than 465 million children affected by war. I think it's heartbreaking that as adults, we are failing to grant children the right to a peaceful childhood. I'm personally very privileged to be able to raise my child in a safe environment, with plenty of opportunities to play, learn and grow; millions of parents don't have that luxury.
This October, I'm running at the Royal Parks Half Marathon in support of War Child, a charity providing emergency care and support to children who need to overcome the physical and emotional toll of conflict, as well as access to services to catch up on lost education.
