As I have been too unwell to participate in the 27th September event at Battersea, I have decided to still run and fundraise and I will take part on 14th October 2023 to run the 10k marathon at Victoria Park in London. This will give me more time to fundraise for Arthur Rank hospice.

I am Alessandro and I am an academic researcher working in the field of ageing, disease prevention and care in Cambridge.

I have decided to help fund hospices across the UK. The idea would be to fundraise one hospice in each region every year.

Lat year, thanks to your contributions I managed to support East Cheshire Hospice and their person-centred care for people with dementia approaching end of life.

This year I am running for Arthur Rank Hospice to help them continue deliver high quality end-of-life care.

I had the opportunity in my career to see what it means to deliver palliative care services to people at the most sensitive times in their life. I am committed to fundraising for palliative care, having myself experiences of having close family members and friends leaving for the peaceful unknown.

The hospice needs our support to help cover for the high daily running costs of services, to deliver the best care they can.
