Story
Summary:
On 11 October, we’re taking on the Peterborough Half Marathon together to raise money for the Nepal Flood Relief Fund.
Although running 13.1 miles is a challenge we’ve chosen for ourselves, the challenges facing communities affected by the devastating floods in Nepal are on a completely different scale. Lives have been lost, homes and essential infrastructure have been destroyed, and many people are still unaccounted for. For families in remote communities, access to food, clean water, shelter and medical care can be incredibly difficult.
We wanted to use something we are fortunate enough to be able to do — running — to help people who are facing circumstances they never chose. Training together, pushing each other through the difficult miles and eventually crossing that finish line will mean so much more to us knowing that every mile has helped raise awareness and money for those affected.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make our 13.1 miles feel even more worthwhile. Your support will contribute towards urgent relief such as search and rescue, emergency medical care, food, clean water and shelter, as well as the longer-term rebuilding of communities devastated by the floods.
Thank you so much for supporting us, and, more importantly, for supporting the people of Nepal. ❤️
