I’m running the 10 km Richmond RunFest this September to raise funds for Barnes Common Limited, the hardworking charity that stewards Barnes Common, the Leg o’ Mutton Local Nature Reserve, and Vine Road Recreation Ground in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Barnes Common is a charity that is dedicated to conservation, community engagement, and outdoor learning. Every year, maintaining these green spaces costs over £100,000, and while some of that is covered by the council, the charity relies heavily on generous supporters to preserve habitats like rare lowland acid grassland, woodlands, and wildflower meadows.
