For the last few years I have been increasing my fundraising efforts from Julia's House. I've gone from 100km to 100 miles. Then 24 hours deaf and blind and 263 miles. Links to previous challenges are here -
2023 - Salisbury man breaks blindfolded running world record - BBC News
This year I am yet again taking it up a notch. 301 miles doing the most Wiltshire thing ever. Going to Wales and trying to recreate the building of Stonehenge.
I will set off from the Preseli Hills after collecting a blue stone and then run to West Wood via Avebury to collect and Sarsen stone. I will then take them both to Stonehenge a total distance of 301 miles. I will doing this in one continuous effort, if sleep is needed it will be in 20 minute naps at the side of the trail. I am hoping to complete the run in 4 - 4 1/2 days which will mean averaging 75 miles a day!
I am taking on this challenge because I want to help families facing unimaginable heartbreak - the knowledge that their child may not live into adulthood.
Julia’s House provides frequent, flexible care for children with life-limited or life-threatening conditions to give their parents a much-needed break.
Amazingly, Julia’s House has to raise 93 per cent of the money it needs each year to run this vital service which is why I have chosen to support them. Your kind sponsorship will make a life-changing difference to these families.
