In the summer of 2026, I am hoping to go to Kenya with my Explorer Scout Group. This will be an amazing opportunity. We will be staying in Maasai Conservancy areas and volunteering with the local community, scientists and conservationists. We're taking part in a range of projects, all with a focus on wildlife education.

We will be setting camera traps in the bush to record movements of big cats, supporting programmes to protect rare birds, painting eyes on the backsides of cattle (to protect them from lions!!) and collecting evidence for scientists. We hope to make a real difference while we are there.

I need to raise my share of the trip so I will be spending the next two years trying to raise funds. I will be selling Christmas biscuits and cakes, making and selling clay decorations, washing cars as well as taking part in fundraising activities with my Explorer Group.
