Story
With under a week to go I shall be taking on my next challenge to attempt to swim and circumnavigate around Manhattan Island, New York - known as the 20 Bridges Swim. This is a 28.5-mile (48.5km) open water ultra marathon around one of the world's most iconic cities. I expect to swim for around 8-10 hours depending on tidal strength, with a start time of c. 9.45pm. I shall be passing through three tidal rivers- the East River, Harlem and the mighty Hudson. Not surprisingly, the swim has not been attempted many times by night, but the support vessel and kayaker will be keeping a close eye on me! I feel daunted by the challenge but there is also a real sense of excitement.

This will be a memorable and extremely challenging experience just in my Speedo's, but with every stroke I take I'll be thinking of the impact your generous donations will have on children needing a second chance at life. My task is far more straightforward than the incredible work Second Chance continuously perform supporting those children in such desperate need.
Their website is: Second Chance (https://www.second-chance.org.uk/)
This charity is very close to my heart, one which I have worked with for numerous years. They carry out amazing work to improve the lives of children in the UK from some of the most disadvantaged backgrounds. Any support you can provide will be hugely appreciated along with messages of support that will keep me going throughout the night for this tough experience.
I look forward to catching up with you all on the other side!
