Story
In September 2025, I very sadly lost my Dad, Andrew, shortly after his 60th birthday. Dad was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer in early 2025 and his battle was a true inspiration with his bravery, kindness and continual sense of the humour in the face of this horrible diagnosis.
Despite burdening me with a lifetime of supporting Birmingham City, I am so thankful for everything my Dad did for both me and my brother, he gave us a wonderful childhood with incredible memories and so much love and support into adulthood. He was the best father we could have asked for and I'm so pleased he got to meet and spend time with my nephew Jesse who was born in February last year.
I know that he had loads of plans with my step-mum (Jenny) which they will now not be able to do, so in his memory and to raise money for the St Richards Hospice Foundation I'll be taking part in the Chantilly half ironman in June 2026 and trekking, with Jenny, the Great Wall of China in October 2026.
Dad was at St Richards for his final two weeks and I cannot speak more highly of the staff and environment he was in. They were truly incredible and Dad was surrounded by care and love from the moment he got there. While there, St Richards only had 9 of the 17 beds available due to funding constraints. I ask that you please kindly donate so that I can support the Hospice in providing the same love and support to other families during the most difficult of times.
Thank you.
