Story
In 2016, two of my friends founded the Uganda School Project with the aim of supporting educational development of children and young people in rural Uganda through school construction and capacity building:
The Uganda School Project’s (TUSP) objective is to provide access to quality education for primary school children in Namisindwa District, a remote district in rural eastern Uganda, with some of the lowest educational outcomes in the country.
We do this because:
50% of children that start primary school in Uganda do not go on to finish it.
9 out of 10 children in sub-Saharan Africa cannot read a short paragraph by the time they’re 10 years old.
By building quality schools in underprivileged communities, we provide children with access to education that empowers them to break the cycle of poverty. Through an approach that combines infrastructure, skilled teachers, and community participation we create safe learning environments that inspire academic success and sustainable social development.
As children gain education and skills, they unlock opportunities for better livelihoods, uplift their families, and contribute to the long-term growth and stability of their communities.
We’ve had a big impact in our communities so far, and with your help we can achieve much more!
The funds raised will go towards:
Helping to build BRAND NEW primary schools
Teacher Training workshops
Literacy and Numeracy Catchup
Other core costs
Help us support even greater access to a quality education, and create lasting impact in the lives of children in the communities we partner with. Because where you start in life shouldn’t determine what you can achieve.
Thank you!
