Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm taking on the London Marathon raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK and I have 2 significant reasons to be grateful for and willing to support their ongoing mission.
I’ve supported BHF many times from jumping out of perfectly good aeroplanes, sponsored 24 hour bikathons to running bakes sales as a kid. I’ve done that previously as my best friend Dave who I’ve known for 39years has benefited from the work and support of BHF all his life. Dave has faced many high risk open heart surgeries across his life, as a young kid I was shielded from it but as I got older became aware of the risks - we’ve had a couple of tough ‘love you man’ moments ahead of an operation and to type this out today having stood side by side as each others best men, to be the godfather to his beautiful daughter Eva I’m eternally grateful for the life he has been given.

More recently we nearly lost Mum to heart failure and whilst it took many weeks and got as close as horribly dark moments involving ‘last wishes’ conversations, the cocktail of drugs the specialists were administering finally took hold and we got her home. I’ve cherished every moment spent with her since.

Mum and Dave are undoubtedly the 2 strongest, and most courageous people I know. They’ve added so much to my life so I’m determined to help others benefit in the way they have from the work funded by BHF.
Completing a marathon will take only a small amount of the determination and resilience they’ve shown but it will be a challenge none the less.
Every penny counts and a £ raised per mile (£26) would pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
