As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) and a qualified BSL interpreter, I am deeply passionate about supporting Deaf charities. So much so, I’m about to do something I never thought I could.. Jump out of a plane! Without your support, I’m still not sure if I can do this, so please donate generously to make sure I can't back out at the last minute!!

As a working interpreter, the majority of my interpreting work is within the health domain, where I witness first-hand how Deaf individuals struggle to get the care they need. This is why I am raising funds for SignHealth, a UK-based deaf health charity dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Deaf individuals. They not only provide essential services such as psychological therapy, domestic abuse support, and residential care-all delivered in British Sign Language (BSL)-but also advocate for better access to healthcare for the Deaf community.

SignHealth also has an online BSL video library which is an invaluable information source on various health topics, empowering Deaf individuals to manage their own health issues more effectively.

I will be jumping on 14th August at Beccles Airfield to raise awareness and funds for this important cause. My target is to raise £1,000 to support SignHealth’s important work.
