Story
On Saturday I set off cycling from Canterbury to Milan, I am planning to take the Euro Velo5 route which is based upon the historical pilgrimmage route, also known as The Via Francigena, that runs from Canterbury, through France and Switzerland, then into Italy.
I would like to take this chance to try and make a positive contribution to Alzheimer's Society, who offer research and support to people suffering from Alzheimers and Dementia - something which has no cure which my Grandad, Norman, has been suffering from for the last 15 years.
The route may need to be adapted given the oddly timed snowstorm in the alps the last week. I am planning to have daily updates and live tracking using my bike computer!
The initially planned route:
Canterbury, UK
Saint-Omer, France
Lille, France
Brussels, Belgium
Namur, Belgium
March-en-Famenne, Belgium
Bastogne, Belgium
Luxembourg City, Luxembourg
Metz, France
Nancy, France
Colmar, France
Olten, Switzerland
Altdorf, Switzerland
Bellinzona, Switzerland
Como, Italy
Milan, Italy
