Edinburgh Distillery Abseil 2025 · 10 May 2025 to 11 May 2025 ·

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 11th May 2025, I will find myself in Edinburgh as part of an event where me, alongside other awesome people, will be abseiling 100 feet down the side of the Port of Leith Distillery, the tallest distillery in the world, all in aim to raise funds for the MS Society supporting those affected by MS.

I was diagnosed with MS, Multiple Sclerosis, in 2021 after experiencing problems with my vision and the use of my limbs. MS is a neurological condition were a person’s immune system attacks their nerves by mistake. The damage to nerves in the spine and brain this causes, leaving scars or lesions, can result in problems with vision, mobility, memory, thinking, fatigue, numbness and pain in the body along with other issues. Over 150,000 people in the UK have MS and there is currently no cure.

Having first-hand experience MS, through myself and growing up seeing family also diagnosed with the condition, I know the impact and difficulties multiple sclerosis presents, but have also seen the limitless capabilities of people to approach life with positivity and persevere, along with the invaluable help and support communities and groups such as the MS society provide. The goal of this abseiling and fundraising is my small way of supporting that.

The MS Society plays a leading role in MS research, fighting for better treatment and care in the community. Your donations towards helping the MS Society tackle MS could mean:

- £10 could pay for physio equipment to help people affected by MS with their mobility.

- £20 could pay for an hour of research to help understand and manage fatigue.

- £25 could help the MS Society support 5 people through their helpline.

Thank you very much to everyone who has taken time to read this and also to those who, in whatever way, contribute to fundraising efforts. I hope you all enjoy seeing my eventual abseil from a atop a very tall building!
