Story
As many of you know, in September 2021 I was diagnosed with cancer: stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I underwent 6 cycles of chemotherapy at the John Radcliffe hospital, Oxford where I received a superb level of care. Many people helped me through this time - family, friends, medical staff, social workers, teachers - and I am grateful to every one of them. In February 2022 I received the all-clear and am now 3 years in remission.
I am running the Leeds marathon on 11th May 2025 to raise funds for the charity Young Lives vs Cancer as I would like to help others who find themselves in a similar situation to mine. They provide families at the most devastating time with financial, psychological and emotional support. In particular, the contact and support from the social workers are truly invaluable. Young Lives vs Cancer gave me and my family so much support and I want to give back so that they can continue to help other families and children/young adults to fight cancer.
Please feel free to share this with anyone who may like to donate.
Many thanks for your support.
Alex
