Story

On September 28th 2024, I will be running my first Ultramarathon.

The challenge starting from Seascale ascends Englands highest peak, Scafell Pike and consists of 31 miles in distance and over 5,600ft of elevation gain.

Ratrace Adventures (event organisers) allow us to use this event to raise money and any opportunity to do that should be used!

Please follow along my journey of training for this event on my social media, as i build the distances and tick of events “A,B and C”

Background

In 2020 I completed the 4x4x48hr challenge after having 2 years off running, we raised over £400 for NHS Charities Together.

The 4x4x48hr challenge itself is an endurance event consisting of completing 4 miles every 4 hours for 48hours.

Now, after 3.5 years off running I have decided i want to challenge myself further, this time (at the time of entering) with 11 months of preparation time. My goal is to race endurance events more often but seeing this event, reignited that desire!

Our vision is a world where every child and young person survives cancer.

For 35 years, Children with Cancer UK has funded much needed research into the causes of childhood cancers, and the development of better, kinder treatments as well as funding initiatives that support children and their families through cancer treatment and beyond.

Our work has contributed significantly to a marked increase in childhood cancer survival rates and improved quality of life for patients.
