Mendip Challenge 2025 · 1 June 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

The Mendip Challenge is Weston Hospicecare's largest fundraising event of the year with 4 routes participants can choose from: 5 miles, 10 mile, 20 miles or 30 miles. All walking together to raise vital funds for Weston Hospicecare.

Story

Weston Hospicecare receives less than 20% of its income from Government/NHS funding, the remaining 80% comes from the generosity of the local community and through fundraising events such as Mendip Challenge.

The Mendip Challenge an exciting sponsored event for those looking to have fun, challenge themselves and raise money for Weston Hospicecare.

The routes 30 miles, 20 miles, 10 miles and 5 miles are open to all individuals, teams, families and dogs and take you along the West Mendip Way in the Somerset hills. Hundreds of Weston Hospicecare supporters will hit the Mendip Hills to take on a 30, 20, 10 or 5 mile trek following the beautiful West Mendip Way to raise money for the hospice.

Our team will be taking on the 30 mile route on June 1st.

The 30 mile route is the most demanding route which starts in Wells before ascending into the Mendips at Priddy before reaching Draycott. From there, walkers will head towards the top of the beautiful Cheddar Gorge before tackling the top of the Mendips from Tynings Farm to Crooks Peak. The glorious route continues past Crooks Peak with a steep decline into Loxton. The final part of the challenge sees walkers reach Roman Road before a fabulous loop around Uphill passing the hospice and back to Weston Cricket Club.

Thank you in advance for your support!
