Alex's 4 day Sahara trek fundraiser for St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice

Trek Sahara 2025 · 9 October 2025 to 14 October 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
I am asking for your sponsorship for my exciting challenge of a 50km trek through the Sahara Desert in Oct 2025 for which I have a £1700 target raising money for St Luke's hospice, Cheshire. The picture above is from my first training walk climbing Snowden in May.
I have witnessed first hand the amazing work of hospices which are sadly poorly funded and my local hospice St Luke's is in real need of further fund raising to be able to continue its wonderful work.
The trek will take me up and down sand dunes and through dried-up rocky riverbeds, with temperatures likely to be 35C+ during the day and zero at night (perfect for camping / sleeping under the stars!).
As someone who doesn't cope well in the heat and is in dire need of getting fit, it will be a significant challenge for me to do this over the 4 days, but I am determined to do this for the good of the people that need St Luke’s services. Please help by sponsoring me, and make this challenge worth it. Every bit of support will be greatly appreciated.
A little about St Luke's hospice:
Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year we supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care on our ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness.
We are a charity and provide all our care for free, so we rely on the generosity and commitment of our supporters to raise more than 80% of our costs.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
